The Deal:
James “Jim” Kane, a former U.S. Army officer with over 20 years of service and subsequent experience in business intelligence at Sprint through its acquisition by T-Mobile, engaged The DVS Group to pursue business ownership. The DVS Group identified Santa Fe Glass, a long-standing family-owned business founded in 1958, as a strong fit. The owners, Dan and Nancy Donovan, had grown the company to multiple locations and over 50 employees before deciding to retire following outreach from The DVS Group.

The transaction was completed in just over 60 days following the signing of the Letter of Intent and was structured using SBA financing to support the sellers’ retirement objectives while ensuring continuity for the business. The DVS Group led negotiations and execution of the transaction, and the buyer prioritized retaining key employees to maintain operational stability. Following the acquisition, Mr. Kane has focused on expanding the business and supporting other veterans in pursuing business ownership opportunities.
