K&W Underground is a specialty contractor with a deep history in directional boring, conduit, and cabling for telecommunications providers. The company prides itself on safety and precision in difficult environments.
Mitts Investments:
Mitts Investments joins a group of friends and qualified operators to purchase and manage the assets of K&W Underground through the next decade of its evolution. The partnership combines international business and financial experience with a deep bench of talented operators, some of which have been working at K&W for years prior to the transaction.
The Deal:
Building on 44 years of success, it was time for K&W to move to new ownership and management. The outgoing owner had previously attempted to set up an ESOP for the company. After reversing that transaction, he committed to selling to a combination of internal management and external investment capital to ensure that the business would be able to thrive for years to come. The transaction came together through long-term relationships between the parties, some of whom had been friends since childhood. DVS was delighted to bring together another successful deal for fellow Vistage members which allowed the business to flourish during the transition of ownership.
